Mission & History
Alternative Services–Oregon, INC. (ASI) is a non-profit organization originally founded in 1978 in Michigan. Since then, ASI has expanded to several branches throughout the nation—one of which is located in the state of Oregon. The Oregon branch of ASI began operation in 1989. It is dedicated to providing quality support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. ASI has one goal in mind: Support the individuals we serve to experience meaningful lives.
All levels of ASI employees, from administrators to direct support professional staff are committed to ensuring that the individuals we support have the quality of life they desire. We believe each person has the right to direct their services and make decisions regarding their life to each person’s ability. Our person-centered practices have honored the individual’s and their family’s values, beliefs, and individuality for many years.
